California Requirement for Liability Coverage
California Assembly Bill 1523 requires Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs), by July 1, 2015, to maintain either liability insurance in an amount of at least $1 million dollars per occurrence and $3 million in the annual aggregate for the purpose of covering injury to residents and guests caused by the negligence of the licensee or its employees.
