• $2.4 billion involved the health care industry, including drug companies, hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, and physicians

• Includes a $465 million settlement with Mylan Inc. for allegedly classifying the EpiPen as a generic drug


Of $3.7 billion recovered, $3.4 billion related to qui tam actions

• In FY 2017, the government paid out $392 million to the individual whistleblowers who exposed fraud and false claims.

• 669 qui tam suits filed in 2017 – an average of more than 12 new cases every week
